Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies

Chewy Choco­late Chip Cookies

3 cups flour

1 1/2 tea­spoons bak­ing powder

1/8 tea­spoon salt

1 cup (2 sticks) butter

1 cup gran­u­lated sugar

3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar

3 eggs

1 tea­spoon vanilla

1 pack­age (12 oz) semi­sweet choco­late chips

1 pack­age milk choco­late chips

1 pack­age white choco­late chips

1 cup chopped wal­nuts (coarsely chopped)

 

Pre­heat oven to 350. Com­bine flour, bak­ing pow­der, and salt in large bowl. In another bowl, cream but­ter and sug­ars together. Com­bine wet and dry ingre­di­ents. Mix well with elec­tric mixer until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time. Stir in vanilla. Fold in chips and wal­nuts. Drop by table­spoon­fuls about 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet. Blat­ten dough slightly with the back of a fork. Bake until golden brown, about fif­teen min­utes. Remove from oven and cool a few min­utes, then trans­fer to rack to cool completely.

 

Vari­a­tion: Stir in 1/4 cup shred­ded unsweet­ened coconut when adding chips.
